Film theorist Laura Mulvey’s pioneering 1977 non-linear avant-garde essay film Riddles of the Sphinx with an electronic film score was preceded by significant early video art pieces Hermine Freed’s 1972 360 degrees and Joan Jonas’ 1972 Left Side Right Side.
An evening of short films by animation, experimental film, and video art pioneers who unearthed new aesthetic realms through computer art, image processing, and appropriation.
